Consistency Rules
Consistency Rules
-
1-Step / Best Day Rule (50% Rule): On 1-Step evaluation accounts, no single trading day can account for more than 50% of total positive closed profit. Exceeding this limit is a soft condition and does not breach the account, but requires additional trading until the best day's profit is 50% or less of total positive profits.
-
2-Step Consistency Policy: No strict lot-size or profit-consistency rules on standard 2-Step evaluation phases. However, trade behavior must reflect replicable, realistic market execution (avoiding excessive lot size spikes or gambling behavior).
-
Server Limit Restrictions: Accounts are limited to a maximum of 200 open/pending orders simultaneously and 2,000 executed positions per day to prevent server hyperactivity.
-
Inactivity Rule: Accounts are terminated if no trades are placed for 30 consecutive calendar days (traders can freeze account activity for 7 days up to 6 months upon request).

SYFrequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this prop firm
What is FTMO and how does it work?▾
FTMO is a proprietary trading firm that provides capital to traders who pass a structured evaluation process. Instead of risking your personal capital, you trade on a simulated funded account. If you pass the evaluation, you become an FTMO Trader and can keep up to 90% of the simulated profits you generate.
What is the difference between the 1-Step and 2-Step Challenges?▾
FTMO offers two evaluation paths to suit different trading styles: 1-Step Challenge: A faster, single-phase evaluation with a 10% profit target. It features a 3% Maximum Daily Loss, a 10% trailing Maximum Loss, and a 50% "Best Day Rule". 2-Step Challenge: The traditional two-phase model. It requires a 10% profit target in the first phase and 5% in the Verification phase. It offers slightly wider drawdown buffers with a 5% Maximum Daily Loss and a 10% static Maximum Loss.
How is the Maximum Daily Loss calculated?▾
The Maximum Daily Loss rule limits the amount your account equity can drop in a single day. This calculation is strictly based on your equity, meaning it includes all floating (unrealized) profits and losses from open positions, as well as swaps and commissions. The limit is 3% for the 1-Step Challenge and 5% for the 2-Step Challenge. The daily limit resets exactly at midnight (00:00) CE(S)T based on your account balance at that moment.
How does the overall Maximum Loss rule work?▾
This rule defines the absolute maximum drawdown your account can endure. In the 2-Step Challenge, it is a static 10% limit based on your initial account balance (e.g., your equity cannot drop below $90,000 on a $100,000 account). In the 1-Step Challenge, this is a 10% trailing limit. The limit trails your account balance and is calculated based on the highest account balance achieved at 00:00 CE(S)T of any preceding trading day.
What is the "Best Day Rule"?▾
The Best Day Rule applies exclusively to the 1-Step Challenge and the subsequent 1-Step funded account. It requires that the profits from your single most profitable trading day cannot exceed 50% of the combined total of all your profitable days. If your best day exceeds this 50% threshold, your account is not breached; you simply must continue trading until smaller winning days balance out the ratio to 50% or below.
Are there time limits or minimum trading days?▾
There is absolutely no maximum time limit to complete either the 1-Step or 2-Step Evaluation—you can take as long as you need to hit your targets. Regarding minimums: the 2-Step Challenge requires you to place trades on at least 4 distinct days. While the 1-Step Challenge has no formal minimum day requirement, the 50% Best Day Rule makes it mathematically impossible to pass in fewer than 2 trading days.
What happens after I pass the evaluation?▾
Once you successfully complete your objectives without breaching the risk parameters, you will be given an FTMO Account. At this stage, there are no more profit targets. You simply trade, adhere to your daily and maximum loss limits, and you can withdraw up to 90% of the simulated profits you generate right from your very first payout.
